New! Strategic Plan 2023
The Fountain Creek Watershed Flood Control and Greenway District finalized a new Strategic Plan in 2023. The Plan is designed to provide a focused and accountable document that creates the foundation for the District going forward. The District is in a time of transition as the original $50 million that sustained its operations is dedicated to projects in the watershed and must now identify its best alignment to continue serving the residents and communities of the Fountain Creek Watershed. The public is encouraged to participate in the evolution of the District. Comments, feedback, and questions are always welcomed and residents are always encouraged to attend the District's monthly board meetings and to actively help with the restoration of our watershed by getting involved in the many community efforts the District organizes to clean up and bring attention to our watershedFountain Creek Watershed District Strategic Plan 2023.pdf
Strategic Plan for the Fountain Creek Watershed 2009
The Fountain Creek Vision Task Force completed its strategic plan for the watershed in March 2009. The plan is a collaborative document written by stakeholders in the watershed, including staff from the cities of Pueblo, Colorado Springs, and Fountain; El Paso County; the Pueblo Board of Water Works; Colorado Springs Utilities; former Senator Ken Salazar’s office; Fort Carson; Colorado Open Lands; the Sierra Club; AWARE Colorado; Peaks Peak Area Council of Governments; CH2MHill; and Matrix Design Group. In addition, residents of El Paso, Pueblo, and Teller counties who are not affiliated with any government or organization but who are committed to improvements in Fountain Creek made invaluable contributions to this plan.
