Traveling Trunks Classroom Presentation  Program, City of Colorado Springs

Educational programs offered by our partner the City of Colorado Springs, Trails, Open Space and Parks (TOPS) Program.

Offered: 
• November — May
• Tuesday — Friday
• 9:00 am to 3:00 pm
• 3rd through 6th grade
• 45 minute presentations
• Up to 35 students per presentation – Up to 2 presentations for the same trunk per visit
Each trunk is presented by park staff and contains hands-on objects, maps, artifacts,
primary source documents, and lesson plans. The trunks provide exciting opportunities for
exploration of and a unique perspective into the natural world of the Pikes Peak Region.

• Rocks in a Box - Digging into Geology
• Skins N’ Skulls - Mammal Types
• What’s in your Watershed? - Water Ecology
• Get Fired Up! - Wildfire Ecology

Please make an online request to your school district’s Volunteer Coordinator or Volunteer Services program for a Traveling Trunk presentation.
