Carleton (Carl) Bern is a Research Soil Scientist with the U.S. Geological Survey at the Colorado Water Science Center. He has a PhD in Biogeochemistry from the University of Colorado, Boulder and a BS in Biology from Virginia Tech. Carl conducts research on water quality and water availability in Colorado and across the western United States with a focus on effects from agriculture and mining.
