Riparian Restoration Workshop for Fountain Creek Landowners 2026

Flyer for a free Riparian Restoration Workshop on April 9, 2026, focused on creek management techniques for landowners.

Light breakfast, lunch, and beverages provided. Please bring your own water bottle.

Workshop Topics:

  • Fountain Creek watershed overview and restoration efforts
  • What landowners can and cannot do in and along the creek
  • Using native plants for erosion control
  • Identifying native vs. invasive species
  • Harvesting and planting willows for streambank stabilization
  • Building waddles in gravel soils
  • Seeding techniques for riparian areas
  • Speakers include Dr Maggie Gaddis, Beth Hayes, Dr Andrew Dreelin, and more!

Location:  7 L Bar Ranch-The Hanna Family, 15680 Hanover Road, Fountain, CO 80817 

Participants will receive native seed and willow cuttings to help start restoration work on their own property.

Suggested attire is work clothes and boots for planting on the creekside.

This workshop is hosted by the Fountain Creek Watershed District in partnership with Aiken Audubon, Trout Unlimited, Colorado Native Plant Society, CSU Extension Service, Palmer Land Conservancy, and other local partners.

We hope you can join us for this half-day opportunity to connect with fellow landowners and learn practical tools to care for Fountain Creek.
