Colorado's Largest Watershed-wide Cleanup
September 27th - October 5th
Crew Leader Registration is now closed!
Crew Member Registration is open!
The Fountain Creek Watershed needs helping hands!
It’s common for trash and debris to end up in waterways – clogging drainage systems, impacting wildlife, affecting water quality, and ruining the view of our natural landscapes.
Be part of the largest watershed-wide clean-up in the state of Colorado! Creek Week volunteers clean up litter along a creek, trail, park, or open space throughout the watershed. We’re inviting individuals and groups (families, clubs, schools, neighborhoods, etc.) to form a Creek Crew. Get outdoors, get active, and get busy creating positive change for your community and those living downstream.
How to get involved
Creek Week cleanups happen across the watershed—from Palmer Lake to Pueblo—over nine action-packed days of service and stewardship!
Whether you're ready to lead a cleanup or simply want to lend a hand, there’s a role for everyone.
Want to Host a Cleanup?
Register as a Crew Leader to organize a cleanup at your chosen site. We’ll provide guidance and can supply free cleanup gear if needed.
Want to Join a Cleanup?
Register as a Crew Member to sign up for an existing cleanup—no planning required. Just show up, pitch in, and make a difference!
Bring Your Own Supplies if you can—gloves, trash bags, buckets, and grabbers are all helpful—but gear is also available at no cost through the Fountain Creek Watershed District.
Crew Leaders may schedule through their registration or reach out to the Outreach Coordinator to arrange picking up cleanup materials like trash bags, gloves, swag, and more. If you would like materials provided by FCWD, please arrange to attend a pickup event or send someone on your crew's behalf. Three date/time options are available:

Crew Leader registration is now closed!!
Crew Leaders are responsible for reserving a clean up location, picking up supplies (or appointing someone to do so on their behalf), coordinating with their crew, and attending a safety orientation/training before the cleanup. A cleanup site cannot be selected by a Crew Member until a Crew Leader has claimed that site for a cleanup.

Crew Member Survey to be Taken After Your Cleanup
I am a Crew Leader and the area I want to clean isn't on the map. What should I do?
Reach out to us at fountaincreekoutreach@gmail.com and let us know where you would like a new cleanup site to be established.
What supplies/materials do I need?
You will need gloves, trash bags, buckets, and grabbers. It is great if you are able to provide your own materials, but these are also available for Crew Leaders to pick up through the Fountain Creek Watershed District at no cost. Please, also ensure you and your crew members wear closed-toe shoes.

Where are the cleanup sites?
All across the watershed. A map of cleanup sites can be found here.
What do the site numbers on the map mean?
The site numbers are an internal sorting mechanism that FCWD staff use for different areas and sections of the watershed.
I am a registered Crew Leader and want to adjust the date and/or time of my clean up. How do I do that?
No worries! Reach out to our Outreach Coordinator at fountaincreekoutreach@gmail.com and we can get your day or time adjusted.
