Students Learn About & Assess the Fountain Creek Watershed

In the Fall semester of 2025, FCWD partnered with Colorado College Environmental Economics class and its professor Michelan Wilson. FCWD Executive Director Alli Schuch provided an introduction to the District, its work, and an overview of the Fountain Creek Watershed for the class. Students spent time in the field observing and measuring some of the District's projects, developed three storyboards, and presented them to the Citizen Advisory Group at its April meeting. These storyboards provide an overview and evaluation of the District's work around erosion control, the erratic nature of the creek, and thoughts on future projects. 

The District will continue to work with Colorado College on these types of projects as this was a mutually beneficial partnership.
