Our Impact
The Creek Week Cleanup began in 2014 as a way to encourage citizens to help remove litter and debris from our land and waters, raise awareness of watershed health, and to foster a sense of community. Since then, Creek Week has grown into Colorado’s largest watershed-wide cleanup and removed over 100 tons of trash! This annual event continues to provide an opportunity for citizens to give back, to enjoy the parks and trails they are cleaning, and to better understand their place in the Fountain Creek Watershed.
Creek Week is a 9-day, watershed-wide (and beyond!) program to engage citizens in activities that support watershed health. From cleanups to forest health projects, we support nearly 100 different events during these 9 days in the following communities:
– City of Colorado Springs – City of Green Mountain Falls – City of Fountain – City of Manitou Springs –
– City of Monument – City of Palmer Lake – City of Pueblo – City of Woodland Park – City of Trinidad
Participants include individuals, businesses, neighborhood organizations, scouts, churches, school groups, Friends groups, colleges, cities, and towns. Don’t see your community listed? Contact us to learn how to participate.
