Fountain Creek Watershed
Vision Task Force

Fountain Creek Watershed Draft Strategic Plan

The Fountain Creek Vision Task Force has completed its draft strategic plan for the watershed. The plan is a collaborative document, written by stakeholders in the watershed, including staff from the City of Pueblo, the City of Colorado Springs, the City of Fountain, El Paso County, the Pueblo Board of Water Works, Colorado Springs Utilities, Senator Salazar’s Office, Fort Carson, Colorado Open Lands, the Sierra Club, AWARE Colorado, Peaks Peak Area Council of Governments, CH2MHill, and Matrix Design Group. Additionally, residents of El Paso, Pueblo, and Teller Counties who are not affiliated with any government or organization but who are committed to improvements in Fountain Creek made invaluable contributions to this plan.

The Task Force strongly encourages you to read the entire plan before the public meetings on November 12th and 13th. We look forward to hearing your feedback on the plan at those meetings, so we can continue to improve it. Click here for more information on the November 12 and 13 public meetings.

The mission of the Fountain Creek Vision Task Force is to prepare a comprehensive strategic plan for the Fountain Creek Watershed.  This plan will incorporate and address all of the planning, scientific, and visioning documents.  The Task Force will then build on these documents to create a shared vision for specific actions that participating entities can make in order realize the shared vision. This effort was initiated by El Paso County and the first meeting was held in July 2006 at the Bear Creek Nature Center.

More information on the structure of the watershed vision can be found in the:
